Before You Spend Another Dollar on Teeth Whitening, Read This

Here’s what most people don’t realize about whitening: the gel isn’t doing all the work. An at-home product comes with fixed instructions. Wear it for this long, use it this many times and hope your teeth respond the way the package says they will. But teeth don’t all respond the same way.

The Real Work Behind Whitening

When you come to The Whitening Lab, we aren’t applying gel, setting a timer and walking away. We record your starting shade, look at existing bonding or restorations, talk about previous sensitivity and find out what kind of result you actually want. Your appointment is then divided into three 20-minute sessions.

This allows us to see how your teeth are responding along the way instead of waiting until the end to find out. Sometimes another session creates a noticeable improvement. Sometimes the teeth have reached a point where more time isn’t adding anything meaningful. Knowing the difference comes from whitening teeth every day and understanding what we’re looking at.

Why Strength Isn’t Everything

That’s why professional whitening isn’t simply about using a stronger percentage. It’s knowing what can change, what cannot, when to keep going and when you’ve reached the right result for that patient.

At-Home vs. In-Lab

At-home whitening can be a great option for gradual whitening and maintaining your color. But a strip cannot see that one tooth is responding differently, recognize that an existing restoration won’t change color or adjust the plan while you’re using it.

That’s the Difference

At-home whitening follows a set of instructions. In-lab whitening follows what your teeth are actually doing.
